Nice DIY addition to our kitchen. Our old range unit was almost 15 years old. The fan was getting so noisy you could hardly stand to be in the kitchen. This unit looks great and is quiet enough on low and medium fan speed to talk on the phone in our small kitchen, on high speed you might want to step into another room. I didn’t realize how dim the light was on our old unit until I installed this one, unbelievable, we can now see what’s cooking. Recommended Very nice unit. Lighting illuminates stove well. Easy to install. Fan is very capable and quiet when it needs to be. Switches are very basic, no rocket science such as touch pad, etc. Two minor comments, 1) when removing cut out for fan, do be careful as the sheet metal is thin and if you are not patient with it, you could damage the integrity of the sheet metal seam. 2) The bulbs can be a bit difficult. They actually have two small rounds pins on the back which have to be perfectly aligned…
3 speed with small footprint, nice stainless finish, full screens. Love this low profile hood. These 3 fan speeds seem just right for home use. We are happy with the sound levels, and love the full width aluminum mesh filters. Many think they want much higher CFM fans, and that higher CFM ratings are better. Beware if you have any gas appliances in your home, that very high CFM fans may be drawing exhaust from those appliances, into your home; unless you have an outside air intake to the range area. Check your local building codes for that…
