Then I realized this was to ensure that contaminants, oil residues and other particulate matter did not muck up the outtake tube nor the exterior environment! Perfect fit for the 36″ Broan 43000 Range Hood fan. This item is an exact fit for my 36″ Broan 43000 range hood fan. The front is a translucent white plastic to shield the light bulb from grease but allows light to pass through, the back portion is a metal mesh on the outside and a “charcoal” mesh on the inside. The “charcoal” appears to only be so in color and I would suspect it was a black plastic mesh material similar to a pot scrubbing pad. The manual for the fan says that the “Charcoal” version is for…
