Great performance, amazing value and looks nice! This unit works great. Yes, it is a bit loud on the highest speed, but you should expect that. I find 3-400 CFM works for most applications and the sound level is more than reasonable. It is also a great looking appliance. I add that second, because most of the vent hood reviews I read while shopping said nothing about performance. Yes, you want something attractive if it’s going to be a prominent part of your room (and on an island, it will be), but I do not want food odors and smoke…
My main complaint is the annoying blue glow of the operation buttons This is the 3rd 218D-I36 which we have purchased, I don’t care for the changes they have made to the unit. First of all the Installation/User manual has not been updated, thus the lower support frame is now attached to the motor housing and it’s difficult to figure how to mount unit.
