Induction Cooking
It does not involve generating heat which is then transferred to the cooking vessel. It makes the cooking vessel itself the original generator of the cooking heat through an electromagnetic field. This makes it completely different from any other cooking technology.

No boil over! We bought this as a way of understanding how to cook with induction before we spend big money on a new induction stove. The package arrived safe and sound and our first use was boiling potatoes. This worked great. While the potatoes were boiling, we were putting our fingers on the “hot plate” next to the pot and it was warm but not hot as the induction heats the steel pot and not the plate.
