First discoloration, then peeling I initially got this to replace an old “stuffer” which was finally showing its age. When this Disposal Genie arrived, I really liked the low-profile (doesn’t stick up out of the sink, so items sit flat even on top of it) and the black finish. Did NOT Fit My Whirlaway Garbage Disposal Unit, But… Even though this item did not fit my disposal unit until after I modified it, I have to say that it is a very useful device. I leave it in the disposal opening all the time to prevent things from falling inside. Great, but not universal. Great little tool that allows water flow, small bits of food to pass through and is easily removed to use as a scraper/tamper. The only thing I kind of wished is that Danco would sell the Genie 2 everywhere rather than exclusively on QVC. I would have preferred the Genie 2, but QVC is the only place that sells it, and doesn’t have any in stock to sell, and Danco promotes it on their site. Kind of dumb. They are basically the same thing, but the 2 also acts as a sink stopper which has a rubber…
