Check the coils before installing. Mine werenât secured. One of the coils werenât seated in the ceramic insulator clamps, it was completely hanging free. Had I not discovered this before installing, the coil wouldâve heated up, sagged, and shorted out. Causing me to start back where I was, with a defective dryer. So after pulling this thing apart, which was a PITA, I was able to properly seat the coil in the ceramic clamps, and install the unit. It seems to be working fine so far, but only time will tell. 2 Months Later The product was fairly easy to install and fixed the problem I was having with my dryer. My original heating element had warped over time (5 years) and was causing the dryer to turn off as a safety feature. Fast forward 2 months and now my dryer is getting extremely hot and making a noise. When it cools down the noise goes away.
