All Engel fridge/freezers feature the Engel Swing Motor Compressor. Highly efficient, it typically draws around 1 to 2 Amps per hour (check the specs below), about 40% less than a traditional compressor. Engel fridge/freezers run on battery power (12V/24V DC) or 110V/120V AC, so whether you’re on the road, on the water or safe at home, you can use your Engel to make life a little easier. My biggest problem if you could call it one is that I too easily freeze things I’ve been running my MR040 continuously since March 2015, half the year in my 4×4 and half in the house, and it’s been flawless. I rarely want things frozen inside, though it’s seemingly effortless for it to do so, and so I run the control between 1 and 2 (out of 5).
