Our dryer no longer sounds like Freddy Krueger is lurking in the shadows of our home As the title says, it works as advertised. It’s a direct replacement for the bad bearing. This can be done with one man, but a second set of hands to help hold the carriage bolt on the outside of the drum is helpful. 15-30 minute job if you’re handy with tools at all. Make sure you have the tools necessary on hand to speed up the process. Wonderful! I have a Fisher and Paykel washer Did the job. The shaft looked fine, so I did not go through the trouble of replacing it. It was the advice of the sellers that the shaft didn’t need to be replaced unless it was messed up. I wiped the existing shaft off with a little WD-40, it looked fine, so I didn’t go to the trouble of replacing it. My 7/8″ deep well socket wouldn’t go in the hole, and it seemed a lot of work to grind it down, so another reason to just replace the bearing. There’s a separate listing for just the shaft and…
