Works with Sears/Kenmoor After some research it appeared this unit works with the Sear 253 model series. All the refrigerator connectors, plugs, and throughholes and screw holes are as described and fit exactly this ice maker. It comes with all the parts needed to mount to the refrigerator but does not come with the kit to connect to the cold water tap. There is a small bracket with a slotted hole to adjust the level of the…
Easy install, need to buy kit to attach to water supply I’m thrilled I finally bought this ice maker and can’t believe it took me a decade to do so. Installation was easy. Hardest part was deciphering exactly where the leveling screw went. I finally decided, correctly, that I needed to use the self threading machine screw to screw it into one of the holes in the bottom of the ice maker. It wasn’t hard but I wanted to make sure I didn’t put it in the wrong spot and wind up damaging the ice maker.I didn’t realize that I would need to…
It works … but not well or consistently. Install was easy enough – maybe 30 minutes – but it’s not working as well as it should. Plenty of water pressure (95psi) and solid copper 1/4 inch line to the valve. Valve and line to ice maker flushed prior to install as well. After 4 days of trouble shooting have zeroed in on a very picky water vale. Does not cycle consistently. Resistance on valve tests within range (270 ohms) but everything leads me back to a bad valve. It happens and it’s impossible to tell sometimes without replacing it…
