GE WR30X10093 Refrigerator Icemaker Kit

Not a Genuine GE part, though unit was very easy to install. Coil underneath got VERY hot to the touch initially, got that funky electrical burning smell. That seems to have gone away for now. Not sure if the unit itself actually chills the tray or if the ice is forming from ambient freezer temperature. 12 hours later and it has created two runs of ice. This may be a good replacement unit for many GE refrigerators, but it is unsuitable for an older GE Profile (TFH24PR) side-by-side refrigerator/freezer. Specifically, it is impossible to route the power cord —using the supplied adaptor—so that the dispenser bin can be inserted and removed without jamming into the adapter’s connector and unplugging the unit from the sidewall in the process.
