Throw away the additional filer over the float. This unit cleans pretty good, however, the design of the waste tank is rather poor. I owned a hoover steamvac silver, and was going to repair its dead motor, but the motor cost as much as 2/3 the cost of this unit. Diminishing returns. I am using the hoover rug solution, and it is very foamy. This may be good for cleaning, but with that additional black net filter over the float, the waste tank fills and the float engages very soon.
