Oil Rubbed Bronze – Beware Painted-on Finish As other reviewers have noted, the oil rubbed bronze finish is painted on. I purchased this in 2011 and the paint started chipping soon after it was installed, exposing the silver metal underneath. Not what you want to see in your otherwise matched sink. After enough of how ugly it was, I finally pulled it out in 2015 and replaced it with a Kohler K-11352-2BZ, which appears to have a finish that is more durable. Love the product, HATE THE LARGE STAMPED IN LETTERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! InSinkErator is great as far as function goes, and is really a terrific garbage disposal, but as a company, I really wish you would listen to your design savvy clients. Don’t buy Finish started to chip off within days. These things should be made to last a long time but they aren’t. When we called insinkerator about it we were asked if we had been using hot water in the sink and told that we shouldn’t be. No hot water? In the kitchen sink?? They made us feel like it was our fault. To their credit they sent us a new one but I completely expect it to do the same thing. So I’m waiting for this one to get really bad before I swap it out.
