Our garbage disposal came with the standard thick plastic stopper Our garbage disposal came with the standard thick plastic stopper. For whatever reason, the standard stopper did not stop well. InSinkErator sells this stopper at a reasonable price so we decided to buy one. It works. It works much better than the standard stopper. The stainless steel stopper gives a solid seal, effectively stopping any water from getting into the drain.
