Every kitchen needs a stand mixer I have had a red KitchenAid Artisan tilt-head with metal bowl for about a decade.I love to bake – cookies, cakes, breads. KA with a 5-Qt Glass Bowl & Flex Edge Beater I have a love/disappointment relationship with KA. I grew up with a KA that was a wonder of durability. I bought my mom a replacement for that ancient KA when it finally broke down after @ 40 years of hard useâ¦.& that new KA? It was dead/gears broken within months with very light use by my now elderly mother. I own a 30+ year old KA that works like a champ – I use it in my cabin. It has never leaked oil or needed it’s head-screw tightened. I can even make a loaf of bread with no jumping…
Glass bowl wouldn’t lock in all the way. So the glass bowl broke last month in February after purchasing this for my SO for Xmas. The glass bowl is apparently an upgrade. It never really locked in place. Then while making some dough it let loose and broke. She cut her hand pretty bad while trying to turn off the mixer due to the location of the switch. Now I’m torn. Do I waste the money on another Glass bowl or just get the mental one. This can’t be a odd ball event. While watching the Great British Baking Show I saw a similar event…
