The system consists of and electrical box with two electrical cords extending from the box. One cord is connected to the disposer and the other is connected to the electrical power. The air switch button can be installed through the sink top, the counter top, or inside the cabinet.The disposer is turned ON and OFF by air pressure created by pushing the button. Bought this for a house I was building for myself … Bought this for a house I was building for myself. I moved in 3 weeks ago so that is how long it lasted. I was standing next to the sink when the disposal went on by itself about 1/2 speed. I pushed the button and it went to full speed then hit the button again and it went to 1/2 speed and would not shut off.After removing the switch I opened the cover up to find a melted and smoking switch. Could have burned the house down.I have installed a dozen of these in different homes…
