UNSAFE -Starts fires on the inside panels- UNSAFE UPDATE 3-13-16 – Today I took this microwave apart to see what happened and why the fire started. Upon taking the unit apart I noticed that the origin of the fire was from the magnetron. As the magnetron antenna sits directly behind the panel that was scorched. Upon removing the magnetron I noticed that the antenna appeared to be crimped somehow and that the rest of it was nowhere to be found. I don’t know if it vaporized in the fire or what happened. Panasonic Creates a Great Microwave When our old microwave bit the dust, I had to scramble to find a replacement. Most of the microwaves had, at best, a 4 star rating, here and Amazon and elsewhere. The ones that I found with 4 1/2, were discontinued, but had the features I wanted. As my search continued, I found the discontinued model I searched for, was replaced with this model. Caught Fire!!! After 18 months it started to die. It operates for 45 seconds or so, then it acts like it is under a heavy load and shuts down. If I kill the breaker and turn it on again the microwave works for a day or 2. And yes it is on it’s own breaker. Nothing else on the circuit.At 24 months like many reviews…it caught FIRE!!!Hey Amazon…there are way too comments that mention fires. How about removing this from your inventory before someone’s house burns down…
