It does have a lot of power. This microwave is replacing a similar Panasonic model, all black, that I purchased here on Amazon in 2006. The old one is still going strong, I just wanted matchy-matchy with all my other appliances (daughter is inheriting the old one – her’s just died). I was skeptical about the auto sensor feature, but thought I’d try it. I’m now a believer. This technology works well. Instead of trying to guess timing on reheating something, I just put whatever it is in the oven and hit “sensor reheat”. A few minutes later the food is ready and heated evenly, at least more evenly than I’ve ever experience with a microwave oven.
