Absolutely garbage. We’ve purchased 2 of these cookers Absolutely garbage. We’ve purchased 2 of these cookers: one from Restaurant Depot, and one from Amazon. The first one was from Restaurant Depot. It failed after 2 months, not in the way that most rice cookers start failing, i.e cooking, but no longer keeping warm, cycle not completing, etc. No, this piece of junk just died. No indicator lights, no warming, no cooking, NOTHING. As if the circuit board just crapped out. Fine, we returned that unit to the Depot, and had to order one from Amazon…
The pot fits nicely into the old pot A little smaller than the older version. The pot fits nicely into the old pot. Overall dimensions are smaller by a lot though so it’s more space efficient. The big reason why it doesn’t get 5 stars is the pot coating. The old coating that Proctor Silex used was a lot better. If you turned the old pot upside down, rice would fall out in a pot shaped chunk. It didn’t even needed to be washed. You just had to wipe it with a dry paper towel. The new pot needs to be scrubbed. so now we can’t simply switch pans like we used to I ordered the rice cooker/warmer that is shown in the picture. But they shipped me another model; which seems to be a newer model of the one I ordered. The problem is: I have 3 other rice cooker/warmer of the older model (like the one on the picture), and I wanted one more , well, the dimensions of the new model are different from the older model, and the pan is taller and has a smaller diameter, this means it’s not compatible with the ones I have now, this is operationally a big issue for me,…
