I so wished I didn’t have to write this review because his iron, when it works, it’s amazing, BUT:If I could, I’d rate this iron 5 for performance and -5 for construction. I sent the first iron to Rowenta service to get it fixed after 9 months because all the water I poured in the tank went straight into the lower compartment (it sounded like a huge gargle until all the water was suddenly gone) and stayed there until I emptied it, which meant no steam for me. ***Alert*** – New Model available that addresses some complaints here (see bottom of review) I am a guy, which means that I hate to iron, but not so much with this steam iron.In fact, this makes ironing kind of fun. I usually do touch-ups vertically right on the hanger. The steam is pretty strong and it just steams out the wrinkles. Push that steam button and bamm!! The steam shoots out with a satisfying burst as the wrinkles melt away (of course you wont get a crisp crease this way, you need to use a table for that). Worth the upgrade from the DG5030 Purchased the DG8430 to replace a DG5030 that I had for many years (power switch burned out). Having used the DG8430 for a few days, I would say that it is worth the upgrade from the DG5030. I would also say that if you go through any serious amount of ironing, these steam irons are much more efficient than traditional iron options, which require either frequent water refills or using a hand sprayer.In many ways, the DG8430 is similar to the DG5030… great iron, lighter weight in…
