Good unit, but I had installation issue. (Read) Smooth installation up to the point where the unit attaches to flange. The directions clearly didn’t specify how this is to be done. There’s a large rubber seal that seals flange to unit called a cushion mount. If you push that seal into the groove on the flange you’ll never get it installed. The metal ring mount lock won’t go down enough to catch the tabs. I spent a few hours trying to figure it out. I even had a bottle jack under it to try and get the tabs to catch. Small, Energy Efficient, Quiet, Powerful and at a Great Price…What more could you want? Installed this on a cast iron sink, which is thicker than most, so this should install on any sink. I would suggest using plumbers putty instead of the rubber gasket supplied for the drain flange. This will eliminate any possibility of leaking.Took me about an hour to install because the connection of the disposal to the flange is slightly different than I have seen before. The rubber sink deflector flap seems to keep the water from going into the drain a bit, but if you push down a little the water drains more quickly.They do offer a plastic/rubber plunger device for free (+ $3.50 shipping) which does help quite a bit -as you can use that to open the rubber flap and stuff food down the drain…
