Find a different replacement. I originally posted remarks on a silverware basket under the Whirlpool brand name, since the Kitchenaid parts are mostly interchangeable. I am reposting here to warn anyone buying this model will likely have the same results.. I have been fighting the #$%T^#$ silverware rack for years. Maybe a solution to this problem? As other people have said the basket is labeled Kitchenaid (my dishwasher) and is OEM. Mine also had the middle top flap installed. Looked like they plucked it from the assembly line. If you read the other reviews too close heat from the heating coil is the problem. I took the old basket and cut all the brittle stuff out of it sanded it and then cut about two inches off the bottom to make kind of a shelf for the new one.
