Great Service with Prime! Our whirlpool dryer wouldn’t stop when doing a timed dry so we called a service man. It took a week for him to get here and he said we needed a new timer. He would order the part, get it in a week and install it for $450. Since we had only paid $550 for the dryer, we said “No thanks” and paid $85 for the service call. 2 snags.First – The dial. The timer dial did not fit on the new stem. On the old part, at the bottom of the dial stem was a black collar or sleeve. Slide this off and place on to the new stem. Now the dial will fit.Second – On mine, there was a large plastic piece that housed the 3 wires that connected to the part (see pic). Getting this piece to come off was difficult. I eventually used a flat head screw driver to pry from the bottom, then once it popped off slightly, I did…
