OEM filter is expensive, but works This is the OEM version and, of course, works perfectly in my Whirlpool stand alone ice maker. Although we have a large filter in place before the water even enters the ice maker, the repair guy insisted that eventually this filter would also get clogged up, so in the interests of not having a more difficult diagnosis, I replaced the existing one with an off brand, also reviewed on Amazon.
