Watch out for the correct part number I ordered this part as a replacement for my RPS sensor. It is not interchangeable.My RPS sensor is white and has an edge card connector.If you have the black one with the 6 pin plastic connector, this may work for you. If you have the white one, you need to get the entire kit.(Whirlpool W10183157 Sensor and Harness Kit for Washer) (new wire harness and plastic spacer. the old plastic spacer will not work, the opening isn’t big enough for the new black plastic RPS sensor)…
Washer Sensor Replacement
I kept getting the error code for balance/spin issues. Common issue with the OEM part is design of the circuitry on the printed circuit board, where the thin traces on the board get broken easily and lose signal to the hall effect sensor. The hall effect sensor is used to sense tub/motor rotation speed, out of balance conditions. Once this product arrived and I installed, the washer worked like a charm. If you’re seeing balance/spin problems consistently then this might be the culprit…
