IF YOU’VE BEEN BURNED BY SHOP VAC… PREVIOUS SHOP VAC: Used to have a Shop Vac very comparable to this WORKSHOP. Much like a lot of them, it puttered out and eventually stopped working. I did, however, put that previous Shop Vac through hell without regularly cleaning the filter or having a separate bag inside the vac. Aside from the fact that my previous Shop Vac stopped working which I could understand after 3+ years of hell, there were a handful of things that I either thought were cheap components, or were simply corners…
So far, I’d say this is a good vac for a 16 gallon that is so inexpensive. Time will tell. It’s hard to write a review for something like this when you just get it. I bought it hoping that it will be longer lasting than the Cheap Shop Vac and Rigid models that I recently burned up. I’ve read that it handles light dust collection from a job site table saw or small bench top planer. The cheaper vacs that I have picked up on special for $40-60 from Home Depot and Lowe’s can’t handle the air flow generated by those tools is my guess.
