Better Than Expected This was a very expensive purchase, but worth every penny. I have cooked brown rice in multiple ways. In a rice cooker, in the oven, on stove top, and nothing made the brown rice, with the gaba setting, better. My husband, who hates brown rice, loved it because it reminded him if white rice. This gaba setting makes the rice not only delicious, but also healthy. I actually made cilantro rice. I added cilantro and onion at the end of the gaba cooking and just before it started the last hour…
Very happy with this Very happy with this. Love the timer functions. Like that it is compact. Great to have the brown rice settings, takes out the guesswork. I also make 1/2 rice cooker cup of steel-cut oats in it, although it does bubble over and leave a small puddle on the counter (doesn’t do this with rice). The 5-cup model I got for my parents does not seem to have this problem,with 1 (rice cooker cup) steel cut oats. Probably would have been just as happy with a non-induction model, say the neuro-fuzzy ones…
